This practical guide offers operational guidance to Credit Unions operating in rural areas. The guide builds on the Rural Support Guide for Financial Inclusion that was published in Summer 2009.
The Rurla Financial Inclusion Team is a joint initiative between the Commision for Rural Communities and the DWP. The team have seen some important progress in ensuring that rural proofing is at the heart of DWP Growth Fund and a major part of this work is to engage with 4rural credit unions and their third sector partners, to ensure that services recognise and respond to factors affacting rural communities.
Delivering Credit Union Services in Rural Areas: An Operational Guide gives practical exmaples of how this can be achieved as well as information on some of the new products available to credit unions and their members.
